Grammar Format

The Vestec Speech Engine supports the SRGS (Speech Recognition Grammar Specification) industry standard for grammar writing.

The SRGS standard was created by W3C and allows grammar syntax to be presented in either an Augmented BNF Form or an XML Form. The specification makes the two representations mappable to enable automatic transformations between the forms.
