The eVestech platform was initially developed by eCIO (a Registered Investment Advisor) to provide nonprofit organizations with smaller asset pools, access to institutional-quality, low-cost investment solutions. To effectively serve this market we needed technology that facilitated virtual communication between our team and our clients' committees and oversight groups, and eliminated the need to fly to quarterly investment meetings. Soon other investment firms were asking about the technology - leading to the establishment of the eVestech platform - an enterprise SaaS offering for consultants, advisors and private equity firms.

Our team has a rich history of innovation in the institutional investment management and financial technology fields. Prior to founding eCIO in 2019, our leadership team launched an Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) business helping nonprofit organizations with $20 million+ in assets more effectively and efficiently manage their investment programs. As that business grew (reaching nearly $1 billion), so did requests from nonprofits with smaller asset pools. The problem was the traditional model of managing and servicing institutional clients required significant costs, precluding clients with smaller asset pools from accessing institutional-caliber investment solutions.

At the same time, the eCIO technology leaders were busy building different fintech companies. Their developments revolutionized the way payments, loans, and healthcare solutions were being delivered. United by a common interest in creating innovative, client-centric solutions for under-served investors, our investment and technology teams came together and built eCIO to democratize access to institutional, low-cost investment solutions that are efficiently delivered through cloud-based technology.

Rob Roquitte, CFA | CEO

Rob has 30 years of investment experience serving in business development, client servicing, portfolio management, and department oversight roles. At eVestech, he leads our team of talented investment and technology professionals delivering state-of the art solutions to institutional investors and other financial services firms. Rob serves as an Investment Advisor to our clients, developing investment strategy, overseeing portfolios, and communicating with investors. He also chairs our investment committee.

Rob has held senior level positions with large money management organizations, where he has sought out entrepreneurial roles including establishing new products and markets, opening new office locations, and maintaining P&L responsibilities. Prior to launching eVestech, Rob established the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) practice for Madison Investments focused on serving larger non-profit organizations. He was also a founder and lead portfolio manager of the small cap portfolio management team at Allegiant Asset Management, which was later acquired by PNC Bank. In Rob’s first entrepreneurial role, he established and built a regional pension consulting office in Chicago which was later acquired by Empower Retirement.

Rob is actively involved in his community serving on two institutional investment committees for nonprofit organizations (including chairing the endowment/finance committee). He received a BSBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Denver and his MBA in Finance and Economics from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. Rob also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Clark Huang | CTO

Clark has 20+ years of experience in software development, information technology, and technical operations -- with 15+ years experience as a technology executive and entrepreneur. At eVestech, he coordinates efforts around our investment management technology development and overall technical operations. Clark is regularly plugged into our enterprise solution partnership opportunities and looks for ways to integrate with best of breed solutions that complement our platform offering.

Along with starting eVestech with Rob, he was a co-founder of two successful venture-backed technology businesses: PropertyBridge which received $2.2 million in Series A funding and sold to MoneyGram International after 2 years for $28 million, and Marqeta which received over $500 million of total funding, currently valued at over $10 billion and a fintech unicorn. Clark was also an early employee and shareholder of Financial Information Technologies, a payment and data solution in the regulated alcoholic beverage industry, where he served as Chief Information Officer, and received private equity capital infusions from TA Associates and Luminate Capital Partners in 2018, valuing the company at over $400 million. Prior to eVestech, he served as Chief Technology Officer at sticky.io which provides a subscription billing platform for merchants and advertisers.

Clark is a Certified Scrum Master and Scrum Product Owner leading agile product development teams for the last 12 years. He has several patent and patent pending applications through his startup endeavors and holds a Computer Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Courtney Dean | CRO

Courtney brings over 25 years of experience in the investment management industry to her role as Chief Revenue Officer where she is responsible for client acquisition and retention. She also serves as an Investment Advisor to our clients, developing investment strategy, overseeing portfolios, and communicating with investors and is a member of the Investment Committee.

Courtney has held principal positions in business development and client service with extensive operating and sales experience building and delivering relevant investment solutions to investors in high net worth, institutional and advisory market segments. Following a sales management role at Lazard Asset Management, she was a co-founder of NorthRoad Capital Management, an international and global equity investment manager, which she and her partners sold to Madison Investment Advisors, where she held senior business development and client service positions.

Courtney has a BA from Colgate University and an MBA in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business. She is a member of Nonprofit Missouri and St. Louis Women in Investments and an active volunteer in her community.

Phil Waara, CIPM | COO

Phil has over 10 years of investment experience serving in client acquisition, client servicing and investment management roles. He has extensive experience helping nonprofit clients with their asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment policy statement, and accounting. At eVestech, Phil works closely with our nonprofit clients as an Investment Advisor creating customized portfolios based on their goals, portfolio needs, ESG restrictions and risk tolerance. He is also eVestech's Chief Compliance Officer and is a member of the Investment Committee.

Prior to eVestech, Phil was a key driver in the creation and success of the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) practice at Madison Investments focused on serving larger nonprofit organizations. He also worked closely with investment teams at Wells Capital Management creating strategy language for large client acquisitions. Phil's entrepreneurial experience started at an early age since his family-owned and operated one of the most successful restaurant businesses in Michigan.

Phil is also actively involved in the nonprofit community in Madison: he is a board member of Family Service Madison and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). He graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a B.S. in Actuarial Science and a B.S. in Finance. Phil has earned the CIPM designation from the CFA Institute and is FINRA registered.

Tim Ivey | VP Marketing

Tim brings 20+ years of experience in product development and marketing to his role at eVestech where he helps introduce future clients to eVestech's innovative technology as VP of Marketing. Tim is also responsible for eVestech's creative assets, content strategy, and maintaining internal software.

Prior to eVestech, Tim worked as a frontend developer at Sticky.io with a focus on improving user experience and later on the product development team.

Tim has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for connecting people with products. He has had the opportunity to work with many different companies, from startups to Fortune 100 companies on projects as simple as website design to major, top-secret, national product releases

Kent Safranski | VP Engineering

Kent Safranski has been working in the information technology and engineering field for over fifteen years with a breadth of experience spanning multiple industries and with companies ranging from early-stage startups to enterprise and Fortune 500.

In addition to roles such as Lead Architect, Director of Engineering and Compliance & Security Officer, he has also consulted with numerous companies to provide guidance in software architecture, infrastructure, and engineering team development. He has worked in numerous industries such as Higher Education, Marketing, Publishing, Health Care, Customer Relation Management, and Logistics.

Kent's technical abilities span user interface design, data services development, infrastructure, and quality assurance engineering. His core focus is on developing scalable solutions and practices, allowing for application and team growth in a rapidly expanding field. Additionally, he is passionate about individual and team growth, mentoring, and company culture & values.

Charlene Bonvissuto

Charlene Bonvissuto creates business and shareholder value through meaningful strategy development, transformational process change, and operational scale. Char is a catalyst; combining extensive industry knowledge and business acumen to motivate teams and realize revenue growth, profitability, and improved market position. Her proven track record of improving business performance has established Char as a widely recognized, results-driven executive.

In her most recent roles as Chief Operating Officer at Optum, a global health services, technology, and consulting company, Char was responsible for formulating business strategies and operational plans to ensure the growth, competitive positioning and operating performance of several businesses. During her career, Char has strategically positioned and executed several M&A transactions that created significant shareholder and industry value.

Prior to joining Optum, Char served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Focused Health Solutions; a private equity-owned Population Health Management company in Chicago, IL, where she had responsibility for business strategy, growth, value creation, and investor relations. Additional experiences include serving as Chief Operating Officer with Solucient, a private equity owned healthcare services company and completing a successful career with Ernst & Young’s healthcare consulting business where she rose to the level of Partner. Char holds a MSN from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a BS in Nursing from Niagara University. She serves on several non-profit Boards, including Habitat for Humanity, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and the Pantry of Broward County.

Byron Frenz

Byron L. Frenz is the founder of CW Technologies LLC which works with angel investors and venture capital firms to support business development of early stage companies. He is a partner in Wisconsin Investment Partners, an angel investment group. As a CPA and entrepreneur Byron provided tax and financial advisory services for companies active in medical services, import/export, and real estate development. He is a board member of several firms and the author of Strategic Risk Management for International Business Development. Byron received a BBA in Business Administration, a MS in Accounting and a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Alex Goldstein

Alexander Goldstein is an Entrepreneur and Investor based in Chicago. Alexander is a founder and Chairman of Eligo Energy, LLC, an alternative energy retailer based in Chicago, where he served as CEO of Eligo since its founding in 2012 through mid-2017. Before starting Eligo Energy, Alexander co-founded a Pangea Properties and CashNetUSA, now Enova International. Enova today offers financial services in over 30 US states and 4 countries, employing over 500 people.

Alexander in an angel investor and advisor to over 30 startup businesses, focusing on technology, and application of technology to finance, energy, and health.

Alexander Goldstein holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is married and father to two young daughters.

David Quade

Dave Quade is an entrepreneur and business manager. He served as president of Monroe Truck Equipment where he and two partners purchased a manufacturer and value-added distributor and grew it to a regional concern with $250 million in sales before selling to private equity.

His prior experience is as a CPA in public practice.

Dave holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife, Marian, live in the Madison area and have four adult children.

Jay Sekelsky, CFA, CPA

Jay is currently a partner at Zermatt Investors, LLC, a private partnership that invests in early stage companies. He retired in September, 2018 from Madison Investment Advisors where he was the Chief Investment Officer. Madison manages over $17 billion in assets for both institutional and individual accounts. While at Madison, Jay also was a member of the Board of Directors and served on the both the Investment Strategy Committee and the Asset Allocation Committee. Jay holds a BBA and MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin and graduated from the Applied Security Analysis Program. Jay serves or has served on numerous corporate and non-profit boards, including:
